Many a mage hast been cast down by their own destructive forces. Lately, however, mages have been developing a way to resist their own forces, while being able to deal said forces out at full power. Resistance to magic is a special ability that most mages would love to have, as well as many other professions. The irony of one of the most powerful wizards in the world being killed by some vagrant apprentices magic missile because the fool didn't boast even some small form of magical resistance is so far beyond pathetically stupid, it's almost not funny.
